The snail bullhead is a member of the North American catfish family. The fins – with the exception of the pectoral fin – are olive-brown with narrow black margins. There is a large black blotch at the dorsal fin base. Snail bullheads can be found in rocky riffles, runs and pools of small to large rivers.
