The spotted bullhead is a member of the North American catfish family. This species has many small gray-white spots along the body and narrow black margin on the fins. There is a large black blotch at the base of the dorsal fin. Spotted bullheads can be found in rocky or sandy pools of small to medium rivers, usually in deep, fast water.

  • River Drainages — Yellow River, Choctawhatchee River, Econfina Creek, Apalachicola River, Ochlockonee River, minor Gulf tributaries and the Suwannee River
