The bluehead chub is a member of the minnow, shiner and chub family. This species has a large, slightly subterminal mouth with a small barbel at each corner and a brassy-green side body with a dusky stripe along mid-side. Bluehead chubs can be found in gravelly and sandy pools and runs of creeks and small to medium rivers.
