The striped mullet is a member of the mullet family. Its eye is partially covered by an adipose eyelid, and the body covered in large scales that have a striping effect on the lower-middle to upper-side body. The anal fin has three spines and eight rays. The striped mullet is a marine species that enters rivers, springs, creeks, canals and lakes. Striped mullet spawn in the ocean.
