The eastern mudminnow is a member of the pike and mudminnow family. It has a green to dark brown, long and cylindrical body with no lateral line and a rounded caudal fin. Eastern mudminnows can be found in vegetated backwaters of creeks, and in small rivers, sloughs, swamps and other wetlands.
