|Comments:||This category of Chinese porcelain encompasses a variety of color palettes and motif themes, some of which can be more narrowly dated. The "Famille Rose" palette (Specimen # 2532), is distinguished by it’s predominantly floral design featuring clear, bright, pink roses detailed in white, and dates between ca. 1720 and 1850. The "Famille Vert" pallete is distinguished by its decoration made up predominantly of several shades of bright, light green, and dates between about 1680 and 1780. The blue-dotted zoomorphic element in Specimen # 33 is characteristic of the 1820-1840 period.|
