Journalism and Biology Majors
TESI Reporting and Communications Intern, Spring 2020- Summer 2021
During the time of her internship, Brittney Miller was an undergraduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a dual-degree in biology and journalism. As a TESI intern, she wrote stories for the Earth to Florida newsletter and produced social media content for TESI’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels. She worked in both research labs and newsrooms throughout her collegiate journey – a background that cultivated her rich passion for communicating science. Her environmental clips were published in more than 65 publications nationwide, including the Associated Press, the San Francisco Chronicle, U.S. News & World Report and the Houston Chronicle. After graduating from the University of Florida in May 2021, she continued her path as a science writer and communicator in UC Santa Cruz’s Science Communication Graduate Program.
