As part of an effort to share Florida’s environmental issues with broader audiences, TESI organizes various environmental science media intensives to help train up-and-coming journalists and science communicators about best practices for reporting on and telling science stories.

These crash courses are centered around science and policy-focused conferences so that students learn how to mine conferences for story ideas,  how to work with editors, how to find evidence-based information and how to interview a scientist. The students work with editors and mentors who help guide their story from an idea to a published piece.
