By equipping teachers with the tools they need to engage students with Earth systems science content, TESI’s Scientist in Every Florida School program is working to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
Over the next six months, we will host five paid professional development programs for K-12 teachers that span all grade levels and focus on topics ranging from plant pathology to silk-producing insects. These programs are supported by funds from TESI, Alachua County Public Schools, the Paleontological Society, the National Science Foundation, and the Batchelor Foundation.
During the workshops, teachers work alongside scientists to co-develop standards-aligned lesson plans. After the workshops conclude, the learning continues throughout the school year as teachers invite scientists to their classrooms. Learn more below!
