Position description

The University of Florida Herbarium (in the Florida Museum of Natural History) has a Federal Work Study position available to work on mounting of plant specimens. Duties will include handling of dried specimens, staging of specimens on archival paper, gluing specimens and labels, and use of linen strips to secure plant specimens for long-term preservation and study. Tasks require meticulous care of fragile plant specimens and attention to detail.

The hours are flexible, between 8am-5pm Mon-Fri, excluding holidays, but a regular schedule of 6-12 hours per week is desirable.

Eligibility

  • You must be a University of Florida Student.
  • Your financial aid allocation must have funds in the “FWSP” program column.
