Opportunity Description

Are you passionate about the water sciences and skilled at design? We invite you to partake in our sticker design competition! We’re on the lookout for designs that capture the essence of the Water Institute community. Up to two winners will receive a $200 gift certificate. The winning designs will be printed and distributed during Water Institute-sponsored events and may be used for digital advertisements.

ELIGIBILITY

  • This contest is open to UF faculty, staff, and students interested in water issues!

REQUIREMENTS

  • The design must include “UF Water Institute” or its logo
  • Might use the UF Water Institute droplet in the design
  • Download the UF Water Institute droplet and logo here.
  • Ensure the design is free of offensive or inappropriate content
  • Raster artwork must have a resolution of at least 300 PPI
  • Sticker sizes are either 2″ x 1″ (minimum 600 x 300 pixels) or 2″ x 2″ (minimum 600 x 600 pixels)
  • Artwork should have indicated cut lines (see example below under Considerations)
  • Submit the design as an .eps, .pdf, or .png file type
  • Email submissions or prints will not be accepted

CONSIDERATIONS

  • Check if the design needs a bleed. A bleed is printing that goes beyond the line where the sticker will be cut. It is usually 1/8 of an inch. It is difficult for a machine to print up to an edge, and having a bleed helps ensure there are no unprinted edges or unintentional white margins. Please see the example below.
  • The University of Florida colors and fonts are available from the UF Brand Center if you choose to use them
