The Institute hosted a one-day workshop on January 19th, 2019 at the Randell Research Center on Pine Island, Florida, to begin discussion and chart a path to achieve the goal of the moonshot- Scientist in Every Florida School.  Among the participants at the kickoff event were teachers from the five counties being piloted in the first years of the project, Florida Museum staff, and UF faculty.  (Read more about the kickoff meeting in this blog post by Adania Flemming). Data and feedback collected from the event helped director, Dr. Bruce MacFadden, begin to target appropriate candidates to fill key positions within the Institute in order to drive the moonshot project.
