TESI collaborates with departments and colleges across the University of Florida (UF) to advance our mission of science communication. In 2025, TESI received funding from the Bob Graham Center for Public Service in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to provide experiential learning opportunities for students in the Gulf Scholars program. That same year, TESI partnered with the UF Water Institute and the UF Biodiversity Institute to support Environmental Leaders Interns, who focused on increasing public awareness of Florida’s freshwater and biodiversity research. TESI also contributes to broader university initiatives by serving on campus-wide committees, including the Outreach Committee, which works to strengthen partnerships and cross-promotional efforts.
Beyond campus, TESI frequently receives support from Florida-based organizations to address critical environmental issues. For example, the Swamp for the Springs program, funded by the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida, engages students and residents in learning about the importance of Florida’s springs and aquifer systems. Most recently, TESI expanded its impact by joining Oak Hammock’s Institute for Learning in Retirement, where TESI presents engaging lifelong learning opportunities focused on Florida’s natural systems.
Through these collaborations and statewide digital outreach, TESI ensures that science communication reaches all corners of Florida empowering communities with the knowledge they need to understand and protect our environment.
