Ren Leihy
TESI Environmental Leaders Fellow
Spring 2026
Ren Leihy is a sophomore from Tampa studying materials science and engineering and geology. Through this fellowship, Ren is interested in learning more about how to participate in meaningful conservation efforts and use their voice and experiences to advocate for the preservation of the natural world.
In their professional life, they hope to become an engineering professor who conducts research on the creation of environmentally conscious and sustainable materials.
In their free time, Ren enjoys creative writing, reading, drawing, painting, and attempting any and all new artistic hobbies. They also enjoy being out in nature and photographing all the birds that they can find.
“I am super excited to work with birds and gain a new perspective on how I can aid in caring for the environment and all the wonderful creatures that inhabit it!”
