Kay Johnson
TESI Environmental Leaders Fellow
Fall 2025
Kay Johnson is a junior from Melbourne, Florida studying public health, entomology, and Spanish. Through this fellowship, Kay is interested in learning more about the intersection between environmental conservation/protection and the way community health is impacted.
In her professional life, she hopes to explore careers relating to (but not limited to) public health entomology, forensic entomology, environmental health and safety, and disease transmission (epidemiology) fields, further exploring environmental health.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, journaling, listening to/creating playlists, pinning butterflies, and taking pictures.
“Through this fellowship, I am excited to learn from mentors and my peers about the natural world in a hands-on, progress-oriented way, though I most specifically am excited about the opportunity to have experience in extension and outreach environments.”
