Hanley Renney
TESI Environmental Leaders Fellow
Fall 2025
Hanley Renney is a junior from Winter Haven, Florida studying wildlife ecology and conservation and English. Through this fellowship, Hanley is interested in learning more about communication techniques that help convey complex environmental topics in a manner that is clear, palatable, and impactful.
In her professional life, she hopes to pursue a career in which she can engage with the public on natural resources and wildlife issues, educate people of all age ranges, and continue to learn about all that wild Florida has to offer!
In her free time, she enjoys anything outdoors – hunting, fishing, airboating, camping, hiking, and wildlife photography, to name a few!
“I’m looking forward to learning more about the management of waterways in north central Florida. We have such a unique and important system of watersheds in our state, and I can’t wait to learn more about how each one functions and how best to keep our flowways clear of blockages, ecologically healthy, and able to support the abundance of both humans and wildlife our state hosts!”
