Topic: Superheroes of the Sea – How Nudibranchs Thrive in Tough Times
Speaker: Dr. Richelle Tanner
Dr. Richelle Tanner is currently the Program Director and an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science and Policy, jointly appointed with the Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and the Schmid College of Science and Technology. She leads the Socio-Ecological Adaptation & Climate Resilience Lab, a research group that engages in multidisciplinary climate research that aims to inform applied management, from restoration genomics and eco-physiology to participatory communications research on the role of language in advocacy and environmental literacy. Dr. Tanner received her Ph.D. in integrative biology from the University of California, Berkeley and dual undergraduate degrees in Environmental Studies and Jazz Performance from the University of Southern California. She completed postdoctoral positions in bioinformatics at Washington State University and ecosystem science at University of California, Davis under the Delta Science Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
