Brooke Schimmel is an undergraduate studying public relations. She is passionate about working with environmental groups and enjoys finding creative ways to share information with the public. Brooke is especially interested in meteorology, particularly hurricanes, and how they affect Florida.

Brooke will focus on content relating to the Florida Gulf Coast. She is sponsored in partnership with the UF Bob Graham Center for Public Service Gulf Scholars Program.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking at the Spanish Point Botanical Gardens with her family. It has been her favorite spot in Florida since she moved to Florida in 2020. Being surrounded by animals has fostered her interest in volunteering at a shelter and a rehabilitation center.
