Shell is slender with a short and wide aperture. Sculpture consists of fine spiral threads and narrow axial ribs, becoming more swollen in the adult (lowest) whorl.

Size: 40-55 mm.

Ecology: inhabits offshore marine (15-100 m) waters, crawling on sediment surface; carnivorous predator of predominately polychaete worms; enormously diverse family, though typically rare as individuals.

Geological range: Late Miocene (11-10 million years ago)

Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama and Colombia; Pacific – Panama and Ecuador.
