Water Shapes Florida
Opening Spring 2024
Get ready for the museum’s new permanent exhibit, all about Florida’s fresh water! Take a ride on a glass-bottom boat, walk through a hammock forest, explore the aquifer and more as you learn about our state’s most important natural resource in this interactive experience. Elements from “Northwest Florida: Waterways & Wildlife,” including the cave, will live on and be incorporated into the new exhibit. The Recharge Lounge connects visitors to current water issues using a mix of multimedia experiences, interpretive graphics and hands-on displays.
This rendering shows how visitors will take a virtual ride on a glass-bottom boat to visit and learn more about both healthy and at-risk springs.
The museum’s iconic cave will remain as part of the new exhibit and will be refreshed with new technology, graphics and content.
The Water Lab lets visitors take a deeper dive into Florida’s water using interpretive graphics, specimen displays and interactive explorations of the aquifer.
