“From Excavation to Preservation: How Environmental Archaeology Brings the Past to Life.”

Today’s lecture will be given by Nicole Fuller, collection manager in the Environmental Archaeology Program at the Florida Museum.

Nicole is a zooarchaeologist with extensive experience analyzing faunal assemblages from archaeological sites from pre-Contact and historic periods in the Southeastern US, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

Lecture Series

The Florida Museum’s Randell Research Center 2025 Lecture Series at the Calusa Heritage Trail offers a schedule of speakers on locally relevant scientific topics to Friends of the RRC members. After each morning lecture, guests will have the opportunity to meet the speakers informally with snacks provided. At each lecture, we will also be collecting voluntary donations of goods for a local Pine Island community organization to help support ongoing hurricane recovery.
