The aftermath of Hurricane Ian is hard to imagine if you weren’t on the ground to see it. Storm surge and hurricane force winds caused mind boggling damage and destroyed many of our tools and equipment. Hurricane recovery without the necessary tools is difficult and time-consuming. Of course, we are in the process of replacing lost items. We got a special delivery recently, our very own John Deere Gator! A lightweight utility vehicle like this is exactly what we need to help with the heavy lifting.
The purchase of the Gator was made possible by the Friends of Randell Research Center fund. Because of the demand for these types of vehicles, we’ve been waiting for months and now it’s finally here.
Normalcy is a long way off, but this makes it seem possible. Onward!
