Art and science collide in this FREE celebration of the diversity of life on Earth. Explore the Museum exhibits and join us and the Digital Worlds Institute for screenings of the short film TreeTender and the premiere of its sequel, TreeTender 2.

TreeTender movie stillTreeTender follows a young woman, Gaia, becoming the newest TreeTender with the task of taking care of the biodiversity on our planet. We see her learning about the Tree of Life, the connections between all organisms on Earth, the importance of understanding these connections, and the human connections to all life. TreeTender 2 picks up the story and explores how our understanding of the connections among species can help save biodiversity.

There will be screenings of both TreeTender and TreeTender 2 followed by Q&A with the films’ creators at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

The Museum’s permanent exhibits, except the Discovery Zone, Antarctic Dinosaurs and the Butterfly Rainforest, will be open to the public for extended hours from 5 until 9 p.m.
