Florida Keys Butterfly Technician

Current Research:

As a Butterfly Technician, Robin works to monitor populations and aid in conservation research of at-risk butterflies in the Florida Keys, with a focus on the sawgrass skipper (Euphyes pilatka klotsi), a subspecies of palatka skipper, which has been petitioned for listing under the Endangered Species Act.

Prior to joining the Daniels lab, she completed her M.Sc. at Florida International University, focusing on the population dynamics and habitat use patterns of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) in the coastal Florida Everglades. She has also worked extensively as a science communicator, having instructed over 50,000 students ranging from pre-Kindergarten through University age.
