Our lab engages in a variety of outreach and informal education events through the Museum each year. Our largest event includes regular Summer and Fall events for exploring nocturnal insect communities around Gainesville.

Education

I teach one undergraduate and one graduate-level course each year, typically in the Fall semester.

IDH2952 – Nature, Aesthetics, and Biodiversity Conservation

This course surveys the intersection of aesthetic philosophy and conservation biology to ask fundamental questions about our relationship with nature. We use visual and performing arts as a lens to explore these topics in the class. We also learn how to make new work by using nature as inspiration.

ALS5932 – Journal Colloquium in Interdisciplinary Ecology

This course teaches graduate students how to read, interpret, and present information from peer-reviewed, scientific literature across multiple domains related to ecology and evolutionary biology.
