Ian and Felicity are halfway through their 2016 field season in the montane cloud forests of Amazonas, Peru. They have a great field crew of Peruvian and Bolivian field assistants that have helped capture and band over 700 birds! Ian has been spending much of his time exploring forest fragments within remote campesino communities and conducting audio-visual surveys to understand how forest fragmentation affects avian community assembly, while Felicity has been using mist net captures to track patterns in reproductive timing. Check out some of the beautiful birds they’ve been catching lately!
