Ever wonder how milk jugs morph into beautiful wading birds or how gears and gadgets become gigantic bugs? See how Alachua County middle school, high school and college students transform “waste” into creative works of art!
The Florida Museum will display winning entries from the 21st annual Trashformations through Monday, Dec. 2.
Application deadline: Nov. 15, by 5 p.m.
Divisions: Middle School, High School and College
Prizes for each division:
- First Place – $400
- Second Place – $300
- Third Place – $200
The Director’s Natural History Award for Excellence in Recycling, or Museum Award, is given to the submission that best exemplifies the Florida Museum’s mission of “Inspiring people to care about life on Earth.”
Awards are given to submissions in the Middle School, High School and College Divisions. The prize is $75 per division and is provided by the Florida Museum’s Directors Office.
All prizes require a social security number and may take 4 to 6 weeks to receive.
