Looking to ease into the art of insect pinning? Register to pin and take home your own exotic butterfly!

Led by Florida Museum staff, these pinning workshops on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. will guide attendees through the process of properly pinning and preserving butterflies just like a Museum curator. Participants must be 18 years or older.

Participants will be able to:

  • Pin a large exotic Blue Morpho butterfly or Atlas moth specimen and take it home.
  • Get up close to exotic butterfly and moth specimens.
  • Learn what it takes to operate the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit.
  • Peek into the Museum’s world-renowned collection and leave as an expert pinner.

Butterfly and Moth Species:

Registrants will have the option to pin one of the following:

  • Blue Morpho Butterfly, Morpho peleides

  • Atlas Moth, Attacus atlas

Cost:

Adults: $35
Museum Members: $30
