Science is all around you! As part of the exciting community celebration, Bulla Cubana, take advantage of this opportunity to talk with Museum researchers about their fieldwork in Cuba.

Bring your specimens and find answers during an afternoon of discovery and learning.

Scientists:

  • David Steadman, Florida Museum curator of ornithology, will display Cuban bird and crocodile specimens.
  • Chelsea Dinsmore, director of the George A. Smathers Digital Support Services, Margarita Vargas-Betancourt, Latin American and Caribbean Special Collections Librarian, and Lauren Krebs, a graduate student who worked as UF Libraries Cuba Project Specialist, will showcase the Celebrating Cuba! Collaborative Digital Collections of Cuban Patrimony initiative.
  • Jackie Miller, Florida Museum curator of Lepidoptera, will display Cuban butterfly and moth specimens.
  • Verity Mathis, Florida Museum mammals collection manager, will highlight the Cuban deer project and other Cuban mammals from the Museum’s collection.
