What to do if you want to join the lab….
Prospective Graduate Students
Graduate students can enroll through the UF Biology Department, the Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Department, or the School of Natural Resources and Environment. In addition to departmental resources, graduate students have access to all the resources at the Florida Museum (Molecular Lab, Digital Imaging Lab, Museum Research Collections, etc.) as well as resources across the highly collaborative university, such as the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research, Nanoscale Research Facility, Forest and Coastal research stations, the HiPerGator computing cluster, stable isotope lab, and much more.
If interested, please reach out to Jon. Sending along a CV and giving a brief description of your research interests would be much appreciated. I’m very open to working with undergrads or post-bacs on a NSF GRFP proposal.
Post-Docs
I do not have any active openings per se, though this may change in the near future. However, if you happen to have experience (or strong interest!) in chemical ecology, and are also interested in small mammals, please reach out to Jon. Also, if you want to collaborate on an NSF PostDoc proposal, let me know!
Undergraduate Students
We are always interested in having self-motivated undergraduates join the lab, either to work in the collections or conduct research. Note that we may not always have space to take new students, and that, no matter how hard we try, not every position can be a paid position. Be sure to check out the Florida Museum Undergraduate Internship Program, which posts applications twice a year!
