Get ready for some arachnid adventures and insect encounters and discover the fascinating diversity of the arthropods! Learn about this group of animals that includes insects, scorpions, spiders and more with an expert and then take an easy hike in the park with us! We will also have an arthropod petting zoo and specimens from the UF entomology collection.

Today’s event

  • Theme: Arthropods
  • Price: $14 per adult/child pair, includes park entrance fee. $7 per additional person.
  • Audience: Best suited for children in grades K-6.
  • Location: Bolen Bluff Trail on US Highway 441
  • Instructors: Jennifer Standley, Graduate Student in UF’s Entomology and Nematology Department

Location

Bolen Bluff Trail is part of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. The entrance to this trail is on US Highway 441 near Micanopy, FL. Check out the map and driving directions here so you can meet us at the correct park:

About this program

This socially distant, personalized tour of the park is ideal for homeschool or learning pod groups. There is no admission or parking charge so feel free to stay after our program ends to explore the park further, have a picnic lunch or enjoy nature!
