We had the incredible opportunity to share our early childhood and elementary school-age programs with the dedicated volunteer team at the Randell Research Center (RRC)!
The RRC, located on Pine Island Florida, is dedicated to teaching the archaeology, history, and ecology of southwest Florida. We were excited to visit and share our favorite hands-on projects and programs so the RRC team can create new ways to reach and serve families local to Pine Island and nearby communities.
Florida Museum programs we showcased:
- Museum in the Parks – Bringing museum collections and scientists to middle school kids in the great outdoors
- Science Surprises – Sparking curiosity with fun, take-home science contraptions
- Early Explorers – Inspiring young minds through exploration of natural history collections
Afterwards we took a tour along the Randell Research Center’s Calusa Heritage Trail. Kevin, a docent at RRC and enthusiastic guide, shared some of the unique and fascinating history of the Calusa and their time in southwest Florida.
A huge thank you to everyone at RRC who made today possible. Docents and staff help bring these programs to life, inspiring curiosity and discovery in the next generation. We look forward to many more learning adventures ahead!
