Ruthie Petit-Frere and Alberto López of the Education team had a great time at the Headquarters Library talking all about Florida’s ancient past!

From Mammoths to Megalodons, we uncovered some fossil-tastic fun. Kids even dug up a pelvic bone from a Gomphothere (yep, that’s like a prehistoric elephant!) and got hands-on with fossil matrices to identify real fossils.

At the end, everyone went home with a shark tooth souvenir!

Thank you Alachua County Library District for such a wonderful collaboration.
