GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Museum of Natural History will offer free admission to all fee-based exhibits from Memorial Day through Labor Day to active-duty military personnel and their families as a part of the Blue Star Museums initiative.

This year marks the sixth consecutive summer the Florida Museum has partnered with Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and 2,000 museums nationwide.

“The Florida Museum is honored to be part of the Blue Star Museums program again this year,” said Darcie MacMahon, the museum’s director of exhibits and public programs. “We can’t wait to share the ‘Frogs!’ exhibit and our fantastic live ‘Butterfly Rainforest’ exhibit with active military personnel and their families.”

Free admission to paid exhibits is available to all active-duty U.S. military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members.
