    : United States: Florida: Monroe County. Big Pine Key, Watson Hammock. Altitude 10 ft. Slope level. Soil limestone rock. Vegetation type Hammock ( tropical evergreen hardwood). Bark light gray, becoming rough and furrowed, thick. Tree. Height 20 ft. D.B.H. 5 in. In open area. Flower color: Bell-shaped. Petals pale yellow with dark red spot at base inside, pinkish in age. 5-yellow stigmas united. Fruit - blackish flattaned [sic] rounded capsule.
