Notes : [Label heading:] Ecological Research Division, Mediterranean Fruit Fly Eradication.
[Non-label note:] "One collection by Moldenke [sic] (19 June, 1929) from near Bithlo, Orange County [Hugh O'Neill, FLAS 9019], is particularly interesting. This station is approximately 35 miles southwest of any known locality of D. rugelii and approximately 100 miles northeast of any recorded station for D. pulchellus. It was identified as D. rugelii by the collector, but its petals are too narrow, shaped more like those of D. pulchellus. I have therefore, with reservations, annotated this collection as D. pulchellus with the hope of visiting the locality later in order to see the plants." R. Kral Brittonia 12:276. [added slip]
