    : United States: North Carolina: Macon County. Coweeta Hydrologic Lab. Upper Ball Creek Road; upper Dryman's Fork Cove, just downslope from Wolfpen Gap. Elev. 1080 m Appalachian/Blue Ridge mixed oak forest. Cove forest with rocky stream drainage; roadside in partial sun. Perennial to 2 m tall. Ray flowers yellow. Common. First plants to flower at this site. Lat. 35.02239N Long. 83.43779W Datum: WGS84.
