    : United States: Florida: Gadsden County. [...] ca 20-50 ft in elevation. [...] Mixed mesic forest, slope and embankment of the Apalachicola river. Terrain with gently rolling hills and palms on the slopes. Humus-rich. moist sandy soils. MBC accessions 20050660 and 20050661 are from the same population. The MBC garden accession number of this plant is 20050661. Solitary to multiple stemmed, short-trunked palm with a stem to 80 cm in height, with 21 palmate leaves in the crown. Leaf petioles smooth, entire, leaf blade slightly silvery on the lower or abaxial surface and dark shiny green above. Long needle-like fibers in the leaf sheath. Petiole, smooth and unarmed, 110-120 cm long x 0.6-0.7 cm wide, adaxially channeled and abaxially rounded. 18-23 total leaflets in the leaf. Basal leaflets 42-45 cm long x 1.5-3.2 cm wide. Middle leatlets 51-60 cm long x 2.0-5.5 cm wide. Androgynous inflorescence is old and buried among the needles and leaf debris. This accession represents the voucher for 4 different plants from which only one seed was found per plant.
