    : United States: California: Santa Barbara County. west of Ellwood (west of Santa Barbara); along coast west of mouth of Bell Canyon (just west of Sandpiper Golf Course), accessed S off Hollister Avenue a little W of its junction with Cathedral Oaks Road (& U.S. 101 exit 110). Coastal dunes, continuum from open beach to more elevated shrub-vegetation. Open slope associates: Abronia, Oenothera, Artemisia, Heliotropium curassavicum, Atriplex. Prostrate creeper; leaves succulent; flowers magenta-purple with yellow throat, viscid. Lat. ca 34 25' 46'N Long. 119 54' 48''W.
