Growing with Pinus rigida, P. strobus, Quercus rubra, Q. velutina, & Sassafras albidum. In front of a house (not cultivated; an original forest tree) owned by Jerome & Gail McElroy, at 223 Dewitt Rd. (Inspiration Point Rd.?), Webster, Monroe Co. Elev. about 400ft. 43° 12' 42.8"N, 77° 31' 40.6"W; UTM 18T 294658E, 4787442N (NAD83/WGS84).
