S of the Indian River County line (less than 1 mile), between FL 713 (Kings Highway) and U.S. 1, S of the southernmost fork of their junctions; in marshy drainage; mosaic of basin marsh and wet prairie with fringe of wet flatwoods. Prairie associates: Polygala balduinii, P. ramosa (and their hybrid), Rhynchospora spp., Scleria spp., Fimbristylis, Ludwigia spp., Eleocharis spp., Panicum spp., Heliotropium, Utricularia cornuta. Roots with methyl salicylate (wintergreen) smell; lateral sepals pale pinkish-purple, darker at tips, green at very base; keel pale pinkish purple in lower half, upper half yellowish-green with purple tinges; crest dark purple.
