    : United States: Florida: St. Lucie County. ca 2732.6-32.23'N 8022.9-22.58' S of the Indian River County line (ca 1 mile), N of Spanish Lakes Boulevard on Kings Highway (FL 713); up to ca 0.3 mile W on dirt roads; mostly wet flatwoods with scattered marshes and wet prairies. Associates: Polygala cymosa, P. rugelii, P. grandiflora, Rhynchospora spp., Scleria spp., Ludwigia spp., Eleocharis spp., Panicum spp., Serenoa, Pinus, Ilex spp., Lyonia spp., Smilax spp., Quercus spp. Roots with methyl salicylate (wintergreen) smell; perianth white with green band along midvein except for yellowish keel petal.
