    : United States: Florida: Bay County. 3022'44.6"N 8528'15.6"W NAD 27. 2.2 miles W of Youngstown on C.R. 388, then up to 0.3 mile N of road in young pine plantation (ex flatwoods). With: Polygala ramosa, P. lutea, Lycopodium, Lobelia nuttallii, Lachnanthes, Sabatia, Hypericum spp., Fuirena, Andropogon, Xyris, Rhynchospora spp., Rhexia alifanus, R. petiolata, R. salicifolia, Andropogon. Roots with methyl salicylate (wintergreen) smell; lateral sepals and base of corolla pale purple, mid-corolla yellowish-green; corolla-tip, crest, and acuminate sepal tips darker purple; common.
