    : United States: Florida: Columbia County. 3018.76'N 8243.77'W. Gar Pond, Suwannee Valley Conservation Area, just south of the Suwannee River at U.S. 41. Northeast of Gar Pond, dry pine flatwoods, with apparently seasonally wet areas. Dominant canopy of Quercus spp., Pinus elliottii, P. taeda; understory with Vaccinium spp. and, locally, Cyrilla racemiflora. Associates: Kalmia hirsuta, Polygala nana, Asimina angustifolia, Gratiola hispida. Usually in stands; slender subshrub; flowers yellow, reddish at inner base.
