    : United States: Florida: Alachua County. Gainesville, University of Florida campus, along north side of Rolf's Hall. In ornamental landscaping. Shrub ca 2 m tall; caudex ca 0.5 m tall; spines dark grayish brown, surrounding stem apex and petiole bases; young leaf undersides and petioles silvery-scurfy; hastula brownish, above shiny green patch; bracts orangish-brown; overall inflorescences pale yellowish with greenish tinges; ovary pale green surrounded by ring of yellowish-tannish hairs. Lat. 2938'57"N Long. 8220'39"W.
