    : United States: Kentucky: Laurel County. south of Livingston, between Mt.Vernon and London, ca 0.35 mile southwest of I-75 overpass (at exit 49) on Rockcastle River Forestry Road (off end of KY 909). Mosaic of degraded open areas (including dry roadsides and wet ditches), dry upland oak-pine forest, and slightly more mesic hardwood forest. Associates: Pinus virginiana, P. echinata, Quercus alba, Q. velutina, Q. prinus, Juniperus virginiana, Liriodendron, Sassafras, Nyssa sylvatica, Carya glabra, Cornus florida, Robinia pseudoacacia, Acer rubrum, Vaccinium stamineum, Kalmia latifolia, Rhus copallina, Smilax rotundifolia, S. glauca, Daucus carota, Chimaphila maculata, Hypericum stragulum, H. punctatum, Coreopsis major, Helianthus divaricatus, Linum virginianum, Sericocarpus asteroides. Tree ca 12 m tall; occasional. Lat. 3713'28"N Long. 8413'14"W.
