    : United States: South Carolina: Marion County. Slender trees each with a few trunks, the foliage dark green, somewhat whiny; bark is very tough on branches, thus the stems hard to pull off; common(?) in woods here along bluff, with Celtis laevigata, Juglans nigra, over marl? Near top of sandy river bluff; overlooking north side of Great Pee Dee River, at Dunham Bluff boat landing, 1.74 miles south of US 378 at terminus of Dunham Bluff Rd., Brittons Neck; 33.8423N -79.3407W.
