    : United States: Florida: Alachua County. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens; The Rock Garden. Open sunny well drained area. Same plant as Davis # 1293 collected 14 Nov 2005 and described as a large plant ca. 5.5 feet tall with leaves mostly erect, some recurved, gray-green, thick at the base and glaucous, small dark reddish spines on the edges. The plant has a paniculate inflorescence ca 20 feet tall but is bent over horizontally at ca 8 feet. Inflorescence has capsules and bubils (small plants with roots).
