    : United States: Florida: Volusia County. Between Deland and New Smyrna Beach, 9.4 miles east of the I-4 overpass on FL 44, 2.75 miles east of C.R. 4118; in powerline right-of-way south of road. Densely shrubby thickets broken by scattered clearings and sandy roads; historically slightly scrubby sandhill or flatwoods, with Serenoa, Rhus copallina, Smilax spp., Vitis, Opuntia, Pteridium, Paspalum, Polygala nana, Euthamia. Shrub to ca 1.3 m tall; fruits immature, green; flower buds also seen (next year's?); perhaps 50 plants seen (many being suppressed by other vegetation) up to ca 0.2 mile south (near greenhouses). Lat. 290.659'N Long. 815.0009'W.
