    : United States: Florida: Alachua County. Gainesville, near well field, along NW 55 Blvd., ca. 0.3 mi. E of jct with NE 15th St. Cut over pine flatwoods, with Lyonia fruticosa, L. lucida, Vaccinium fuscatum, V. myrsinites, Ilex glabra, Myrica cerifera, Rhus copallina, Serenoa repens. Common shrub to 1.75 m tall; branches rigidly ascending; mainly in young fruit, but still a few flowers (white) on some plants. New shoots densely rusty lepidote.
